The Cayuga County Department of Planning and Economic Development will hold three meetings next week to gather input on long-term planning.
According to a news release, residents, business owners and other members of the public are encouraged to participate in Community Visioning Workshops for the Cayuga Countywide Strategic Plan:
• 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Locke Fire Hall, 1060 Route 38, Locke
• 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES, 1879 W. Genesee St. Road, Aurelius
• 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Ira Fire Hall, 12591 Route 176, Ira
A similar series of meetings was held in July. The planning department said they will provide a brief project overview followed by an interactive session with activities and a chance to win prizes. Attendees will also be able to meet project committee members to ask questions and provide feedback on the plan's vision for Cayuga County.
The development of a new countywide strategic plan is being funded by $103,500 from the New York State Department of State's Smart Growth Community Planning and Zoning Grant Program.
Organizers said the feedback gathered will inform the vision for the plan, as well as land use strategies and recommendations.
