The college said in a news release Monday that it is participating in SUNY Reconnect, which provides financial assistance for New York residents ages 25 to 55 to get their first degree at community colleges. The program聽was announced by the state in the spring.
Associate degrees in over a third of CCC's programs are available through SUNY Reconnect, the college said. They include:
The program includes the cost of tuition, fees, books and supplies for eligible students after other forms of tuition assistance are applied. Students can start enrolling for the fall semester now.
Students must apply for state tuition assistance and aid through the state DREAM Act, if applicable, and are also encouraged to apply for federal financial aid, CCC said. Adults who have earned credits toward a degree, or who previously earned a certificate or microcredential, are also eligible. Students can attend classes part-time or full-time.
Assistance through the program does not include funding for housing, food, transportation or other non-academic expenses.聽
